Theoretical underpinning is achieved by building 'gates' into experiential learning exercises for reflection, progress feedback and consolidation to make connections between behaviour on the programme and behaviour in the work situation. Task reviews follow immediately afterwards, to examine performance, provide a reference for evening seminars and give an opportunity for on-line coaching.
These experiential learning reviews are short, sharp and focus on the here and now without moving into the realms of introspection and over analysis. Participants learn from the experiential learning situation, from each other and from generating solutions within resources allocated.
The evening seminars take the experiential learning review outcomes, link in theory and application, after which the group would begin to modify its' processes. This is the key that differentiates a successful experiential learning event, in learning terms, from what can just otherwise turn out to be merely an interesting and enjoyable experience. |
